Infinix Hot 9 Lite vs Tecno Camon 15; Which One is Better

The Infinix Hot 9 Lite is one of the latest additions to Infinix’s phones but it’s definitely not the most sophisticated – that’ll be the Note 7 instead. Infinix’s Hot series is known for featuring cheap phones. Hence the (not generally) unimpressive specs but instead multiple variants.

The Camon 15, coming from Tecno, is also one of the latest phones around and it’s one member of a ‘4-phone gang’. The other members include Camon 15 Air, Camon 15 Pro and Camon 15 Premier.

On this blog, we have standalone articles for each of these phones. Reviews and specifications page. You’re free to check them out after reading this. Meanwhile, do not forget to share this article on social media. Most importantly, Twitter.

Infinix Hot 9 | Reviewspecsprice
Infinix Hot 9 Lite

The Infinix Hot 9 lineup comes immediately after the Hot 8 lineup but the Hot 9 assumes a totally different design compared to the Hot. Instead, it looks more like the Infinix S5 – featuring a punch hole to the top-left and, 6.6 inches in size and the camera lineup also to the left on the rear.

Like many other Infinix phones, the Hot 9 lite features an HD display based on IPS LCD technology. It has a maximum resolution of 700 x 1600 and 266 ppi pixels density.

Running on the Hot 9 is Android 10 spiced with XOS 6.0 for the user interface. Its SoC is from MediaTek. This time though, it’s the Helio A25. Integrated with this chip is an Octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The GPU is clocked at 600MHz. The Helio A25 is an entry-level SoC. One of the weak ones.

Storage is not an issue for the Infinix Hot 9. However, You must pay attention while placing your order. That’s because the Hot 9 comes in 5 variants which are
Among these ROM + RAM combo though, I’d personally recommend 32GB ROM + 3GB RAM or 64GB ROM + 4GB RAM. However, there has been no proof than the RAM size in relation to the ROM affects the device performance. This is because both are separate elements on the motherboard.

Up to Hot 7, Infinix has not offered beyond 4,000 mAh batteries in the Hot series and even in many of their phones. However, the Infinix Hot 8 and the Hot 9 come with 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery each.

All versions of the Infinix Hot 9 feature 5 cameras in total – 4 at the back and 1 at the front. However, while the 32GB versions feature 13MP wide lens, 2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor and QVGA lens, the 64GB and 128GB versions feature 16MP wide lens, 2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor and QVGA lens. Their selfie cameras are simply 8MP wide lens each.

For this phone, we got GSM, HSPA and LTE. While for the connectivity, we have WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot), Bluetooth (5.0, A2DP, LE), GPS (A-GPS), FM Radio and microUSB 2.0 with support for USB On-The-Go.

The Infinix Hot 9 starts somewhere around NGN35,000 and goes up from there. Reaching somewhere around NGN50,000 with the 128GB version.

Tecno Camon 15 | Reviewspecsprice
Camon 15

On the other side of the ring, we have the Tecno Camon 15. Grunting and flexing its muscles. Apparently, its got a tiny bit of muscles more than the Hot 9. The Camon 15 looks a lot like the Hot 9. The same selfie camera punch hole is found on its face and the camera array on the back is arranged just the same way.

Its display is also based on IPS LCD technology and the resolution and pixel density are absolutely the same. 700 x 1600 and 266 ppi respectively.

The Camon 15 also runs Android 10 but its UI is handled by Tecno’s HiOS. Its chip is from Mediatek too but this is where the difference lies. The Camon 15 comes with Helio P22 as which although is also an entry-level chip is a bit stronger (higher processing speed) and has more network bands than the A25 which is found on the Hot 9. It is powered by Octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU with 2.0GHz clockspeed and PowerVR GE8320 with 650MHz max speed.

Unlike the Hot 9 which was released with 5 different storage variants, the Camon 15 comes a single release. Its RAM is 4GB while the internal storage is 64GB. No more. No Less. No Extras.

With people’s life moving more and more towards being digitized, manufacturers have been consistently increasing the battery capacities for their devices. Tecno is not exempted and the Camon 15 is loaded with a built-in 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery. Just like its opponent.

Like many phones around now, the Tecno Camon 15 also comes with quad rear camera setup. The main sensor is a wide 48MP lens. The others include a 2MP macro sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a QVGA lens. The single selfie camera though is 16MP. As against the Hot 9’s 8MP.

It is unnecessary to restate the network and connectivity capacities here again; since it features just same as the Hot 9’s.

If you’re familiar with Tecno’s Camon devices, you would know that they have a thing for being unnecessarily expensive. At the time this article is being published, the Camon 15 costs somewhere between NGN60,000 and NGN70,000 in Nigeria. Depending on location and seller. On the other hand, Infinix Hot 9’s 4GB + 64GB version definitely can’t be this expensive.

As seen above, the Tecno Camon 15 runs on a slightly better chip, resulting in higher processing speed than the Hot 9. However, conclusion cannot be drawn at the moment since the Hot 9 is not yet in stores. The Camon 15 may be costlier than it ought to. Basically though, both phones are good.
