As beautiful as the Infinix Smart 5 looks on the outside, it is not what you think it might be on the inside. If you’re holding either of the Infinix Hot 8 Pro devices (not the lite version), think twice before you give it up for the smart 5. It is for this reason that I bring the Infinix Smart 5 review straight to you. Keep reading.

X657 Infinix Smart 5 Review
For starters, there’s nothing spectacular about this device. Nothing it offers that we haven’t seen before. In fact, it brings along some of those features that can make you want to smash your phone. One phrase I’m fond of using for such devices is “dumbphone”.
At 6.6 inches, the Infinix Smart 5 stands 0.08 taller than the Infinix Hot 8 pro which is 6.52 inches. To be honest, I don’t see any point in that. Especially since they both share the same display features. From the size to the resolution and definitely the quality. The only difference, albeit folly, is found in the pixels density.
From the picture above, it’s pretty obvious that the Infinix smart device sports triple rear cameras and one front-facing camera in a teardrop notch. This feature has been around a while but I don’t think it’s leaving in a hurry.
To the important parts – and where this phone messed up the most. We are treated to a MediaTek Helio A20 chip. Though released last year, the Helio A20 is just a sucker chip coupled with a disappointing Quad-core (1.8GHz) processor.

One would think the Infinix Smart 5 will feature a big RAM to compensate for the weak operation capacity. What happened? More disappointment. Infinix ‘delighted’ us to 2 variants. With one featuring 2GB RAM + 32GB internal storage, while the other brings along the 3GB RAM and 64GB storage combo.
From the chip mentioned above, you shouldn’t expect a premium level camera setup. On the back, there are 3 lenses in total. One 13MP (X657) or 8MP (X657C) lens and two QVGA lens with undisclosed mega pixels. You’ll still get the bokeh effect though.
Being a very recent device, the smart 5 features no other OS than the Android version 10.0 Go edition. This ‘smartphone‘ (yuck) comes in 3 different colours which include Ocean Wave, Quetzal Cyan, and Midnight Black. I didn’t forget the battery capacity. It’s 5,000 mAh.

Infinix X657 Smart 5 Price in Nigeria
The Infinix Smart 5 is already available in Nigeria and you can get it somewhere between NGN40,000 and NGN50,000. Considering the fact that the Infinix Hot 8 pro costs slightly lesser, I think you shouldn’t bother changing from Hot 8 pro to Smart 5.
